Transportation to Airport from Izmir City Center

Adnan Menderes Airport

Located in the Gaziemir district, 18 km from the city center, Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport is accessible by Havaş shuttles, public buses, train, taxi or personal car. You can also rent a car from various car rental agencies at the airport or in various locations in the city.

Havaş

Havaş shuttles that take off from Çeşme, Alsancak, Karşıyaka-Mavişehir and Kuşadası are the most preferred means of transportation to the airport.

These buses stop at certain central locations to pick up passengers or transport passengers to bus stops.   

Bus

Adnan Menderes Airport is accessible using the bus lines 200 (Mavişehir), 202 (Alsancak), and 204 (Bornova). If you don’t have a Kentkart (smart card for fare payment) you can buy a 3-5 ticket (üç-beş bilet), which has 2, 3, or 5 credits on it.

Train

The fastest way to get to the airport is by train. Adnan Menderes Airport is located in between the Sarnic and Cumaovasi stops. You can get to Adnan Menderes Airport by using the Izban Train, which serves the route between Aliağa-Tepeköy.  

Taxi

You can find a taxi at any hour in front of the terminal. If you’re travelling far from the airport consider negotiating with the taxi driver for a lower fare.

Personal Car

Adnan Menderes Airport has a multi-story parking lot that is connected to both the arrivals and departures terminal. The parking lot has a capacity of 2,237 vehicles.

You can rent a car at Adnan Menderes Airport from the following car rental agencies: Payless, Yes Oto National, Sixt, Avis, Işıl Tur, Zafer, Duray, Europcar, Hertz, Sun and Central  

Airport Information

Cafes, bars and restaurants located in the terminal include Cafe İzmir, Cafe Nero, Express-o Busgate, Express-o Hava, Express-o Kara, Gloria Jean's Cafe, Kantin, Ekmekarası Café, Beer Port Bar, Burger King, and Ton-Ton.

In addition, if you want to go shopping you can visit the Old Bazaar, Gift Shops, Desa, Alsancak, Toyzz Shop, D&R, Samsonite, Simpark Tobacco Shop, Duty Free Shop and Setur stores.   

Passengers who want to spend time in the terminal can explore the exhibition at the TAV Gallery in the international departures hall or watch TV and connect to the internet while enjoying food and beverage service at the Comfort Lounge or Millenium Lounge.

Transportation to Beirut City Center from Airport

Beirut Rafic Hariri Intl. Airport

Lebanon's capital city Beirut, once called "Paris of the Middle East", is still one of the most important tourist destinations in the region. Approximately 6 million of visitors coming to Beirut, which cannot turn to its old brilliant days because of the wars it has been suffering in recent years, enter the country from the Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport named after the former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri who lost his life in an assassination. Unlike many capitals or the busiest airports, official municipality buses or services are not available at this airport.

Taxi

Taxis are one of the few ways to use for the transportation to the city from the Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport, which is the only airport of Lebanon. Transportation to the Nejmeh Square, which is accepted as the center of the city, is about 30 thousand Lebanese pounds. That is 55 TL. It takes about 15 minutes to reach the city center by taxis located outside of the terminal building.

Car Rental

Renting a car is one of the ways to reach the city from the airport. Within the airport there are offices belonging to 7 different car rental companies. With the car you will rent from one of the car rental companies which are also well-known all around the world, you can reach the city center in about 15 minutes in a very comfortable way.

To get to the city, first of all you need to follow Hafez Al-Assad Street at the exit of the airport in the north direction. The name of this road, after a few kilometers later, will be Salim Salam and then it will change as Ahmad Mukhtar Beyhum Street. This road will lead you directly to the Nejmeh Square.

Private Services

At Beirut Rafic Hariri International Airport there are also private companies that takes passengers to different points of the city. These companies, offering luxury transportation service, demand amounts higher than normal prices. The company named Lebanon, which has an office at the airport, is a leader about this transportation option.
