Transportation to Airport from Munich City Center

Munich Airport

Munich Airport is Germany’s second largest airport after Frankfurt Airport and it is also Europe’s 7th busiest airport and was the 34th busiest airport in the world in 2015. Located about 30 km from the city center Munich Airport is a major international airport operating both domestic and international flights. There are several transportation alternatives available to get to the airport from the city center. The airport is accessible by train, bus, and rental car. Train

There is a rail system in place that provides transportation from the city center directly to Munich Airport. Trains depart every 10 minutes and provide transportation to terminals 1 and 2. The S1 train line connects Neufahrn, Moosach, Laim, Munich Hauptbahnhof, Marienplatz and Ostbahnhof with the airport and the S8 train line connects Ostbahnhof, Isartor, Marienplatz, Karlsplatz/Stachus, Hauptbahnhof, Laim and Pasing and Herrsching with the airport. For both lines the total trip from the furthest point on the line to the airport takes about 50 minutes.
