Bus
There are three different bus companies in Rotterdam; RET, ARRIVA and Conexxion. Among these, the most widely used company is RET. Although these companies commonly use the same bus stops, it is not possible to transfer between buses from different companies. If you want to reach the airport by public transport, first you have to reach the city center. To get to the airport, you can take the bus number 33 in Rotterdam City Center.
The bus travels every ten minutes during the day and every half an hour during the evening hours and arrives at the airport in about twenty-five minutes. After getting off the bus you can reach the airport which is within short walking distance. Other RET buses passing through the city center are buses number 38 travelling between the center of Schiedam and Kerkhoflaan, number 40 from the Delft Buffer station to the city center and number 44 from the Zuidplein to the city center.
Shuttle
It is possible to reach the airport in about ten minutes by shuttle number 50, which departs from Meijersplein metro station. The shuttle departs every half an hour, both during the day and in the evening.
Metro
The metro is the most widespread and most widely used alternative for transportation within the city and to neighboring cities. All lines of Metro meet at the city center.
It is very simple to get to the center by metro from all over the city and reach the airport from there. If you are coming from The Hague, you can reach the Rotterdam city center in about twenty-five minutes using the E line.
The E line provides transportation between Rotterdam and The Hague city centers. With the D line, from the De Akkers direction to Rotterdam city center, you can reach the centers of Beurs, Slinge, Rhoon, Tussenwater and Spijkenisse respectively.
Those coming from line A, B and C, can reach the city center by transferring to D line at Beurs station.
You can reach the city center by taking the C line from De Terp or De Akkers direction, following the stops of Pernis, Vijfsluzien, Troelstralaan and Parkweg, and transferring to D line. Then you can get to the airport by bus.
Passengers arriving from the A and B lines operating between the Binnenhof and Nesselande directions and the center of Schiedam can also use the D line to reach the city center.
Tram
It is also possible to reach the center from certain parts of the city by using the tram. You can use the trams 4, 7, 8, 20, 21, 23, 24 and 25 to get to the city center and here you can change to the bus to reach the airport.
Water Vehicles
You can reach the places near city center such as Leuvehaven and Veerhaven from the New York Hotel by water taxi which you can find about every ten minutes around the Maas River. You can also travel between Erasmusbrug / Spido, Katendrecht, St. Jobshaven and Heijplaat-RDM stations by taking the ferry called Aquliner.
Train
The train station in Rotterdam city center connects buses, metro and other public transport such as trams, as well as connecting different cities with railroads.
If you want to reach Rotterdam The Hague Airport from another neighboring city, you can take the train to Rotterdam city center and take the bus from there to the airport.
If you are coming from Amsterdam, you can use the Intercity Direct train which is traveling from Amsterdam Central Station to Rotterdam Central Station, stopping only at Schiphol, in approximately forty minutes.
In addition, the Intercity Train reaches from Amsterdam to Rotterdam city center, by stopping at Schipol, Ledien, Laheyn and Delft.
Taxi

Airport Buses
From the airport there are buses that provide transportation to Vurgun Park on 28 May Street, that run every 30 minutes. These buses take approximately 50 minutes and are very affordable. Bus line 116 takes off from the 1st floor of each terminal. Vurgun Park is the last stop on the bus line. From here the Gobustan National Park along the Caspian coastline is 15 minutes away on foot. The Old City is 2.5 km away. You can get there by taking bus lines 120 or 124 in about 25 minutes.
Metro
Baku’s metro network dates back to the 1960’s. Out of the two metro lines unfortunately neither connect directly to Heydar Aliyev International Airport. From the airport you can take bus line 116 to Koroglu Metro Station; this bus ride takes about 35 minutes. From the Koroglu Metro Station you can get to other central locations in the city like 28 May Street or the Old City. Azerbaijan’s largest stadium, Tefik Bahramov Stadium, is also located on this line.
Taxi
To get from the airport to the city center you can also take a taxi. Taxi stands are located at the terminal exit. Taxis from the airport to the city center take around 20 minutes and will cost between 15-20 Azerbaijani Manat. You can also book a luxury transfer service. Fares for luxury transfer services start from 65 Azerbaijani Manat.
RENTAL CARS
Renting a car to get from the airport to the city center and to get around within the city is a great idea. The city is frequented by a lot of businessmen who usually choose to rent a car. Traffic in the city is mild and fuel is cheap so it makes renting a car an even more attractive option. The airport features a rich variety of rental car options. There are many vehicles to choose from, from luxurious vehicles to standard ones. To get to the city center follow the airport road to the Boyuk Shor Highway. This highway will connect you to Heydar Aliyev Avenue, after the Ziya Bunyadov Avenue junction. Heydar Aliyev Avenue will connect you to the Old City and central Baku.

The airport has 2 terminals, Terminal 1, which was completely renovated, and Terminal 2, which serves domestic flights.
