About Grodno

Grodno, also known as Hrodna, is an important industrial city in Belarus with a population of close to 350 thousand. Grodno is home to factories that generate products like chemical fertilizers and synthetic fibers. The city was once under Polish sovereignty but was later given back to Russia and then later became an independent state of the former Soviet Union. The city is located in close proximity to the border of Poland.

Located on the edge of the Neman River, there are many historic sites to explore in the city. There are a large number of religious buildings like the Kalozha Church, the Great Choral Synagogue, the Jesuit Catholic Church, Jesuit Pharmacy, Kircha Evangelistic Church, and Pakrouskaya Orthodox Church. The State Museum of History and Archaeology and the Old Grodno Castle are worth exploring as well. Sovetskaya Street is one of the city’s most famous streets and is home to many shops and cafes. The city experiences hot summers and cold winters. Snowfall occurs during the winter. You can conveniently visit the city any time of the year aside from the winter months.
