Transportation to Airport from Bangkok City Center

Don Mueang Intl. Airport

Thailand’s capital Bangkok is one of the most important tourist destinations in the Asian continent. The city, which hosted over 25 million tourists last year, has 2 airports. The Suvarnabhumi International Airport opened for international travel in 2006. The city’s first airport, Don Mueang International Airport, is a regional commuter flight hub and low-cost airline hub.

Suvarnabhumi International Airport handles the largest amount of international passengers entering the city, handling over 53 million passengers in 2012. Bangkok is a city with a population of 8 million. Like other South Asian countries, transportation within the city can be chaotic. However, transportation to and from the airport is extremely advanced and comfortable.

Rail

You can take buses 201 and 503 from the Royal Palace, National Museum, and Phara Nakhon, the historic city center, to Phaya Thai Station. From this station you can get to the airport in 17 minutes.

You can also get on the express line at Makkasan Station. Other lines take about 30 minutes to get to the airport.

Airport Services

There are vehicles that depart from Victory Monument, which is one of the busiest transportation hubs in the city, to the airport every 20 minutes. You can get to the airport using luxury minibuses or buses where you need to connect or transfer in between. Minibuses 550 and 551 will take you directly to the airport. The city of Bangkok experiences extremely hot temperatures and these vehicles were designed taking that fact into consideration. These vehicles are all air-conditioned, providing comfortable transportation for tourists.    

Personal Car

From the historic city center (Phara Nakhon) take the Nakhon Sawan or Lan Luang bridges and connect to the Sirat Expressway, which has a toll. From here you need to take Motorway 7, which connects directly to the airport. After reaching the airport you can park your vehicle in one of the three parking lots, which have a total car park capacity of 5 thousand vehicles.

Transportation to Tangier City Center from Airport

Tangier Ibn Battuta Airport

lbn Batouta Airport is 11 km from Tangier city center and due to the lack of public transportation from lbn Batouta Airport to the city, you can choose from taxis, transfer services or car rental companies. While taxi transportation is more practical and economical, car rental may be more to your advantage depending on the number of days you are planning to stay in the city. It will take you a maximum of 15 minutes to reach Tangier city center from Ibn Batouta Airport.

Taxi

Taking a taxi is the most practical way to get to Tangier city center from Ibn Batouta Airport and taxis also provide a budget friendly transportation service. As soon as you leave the airport terminal, you will come across taxi ranks. Before you get in one of these taxis from the taxi ranks, we recommend you tell them where you are wanting to go and make a deal with them first. Although they may not accept barganing, the maximum they will charge is 100 dirhams to travel to Tangier city center. However, taxis from 22:30 in the evening until 05:30 in the morning can increase the fare up to 150 Moroccan Dirhams. The fare to pay to travel to Port Med by taxi is 300 dirhams and 120 dirhams to travel to the train station. The taxi journey between Ibn Batouta Airport and Tangier city center takes on average 10 minutes.

Rent A Car

Since there is no public transportation such as buses that can take you directly to Tangier from the airport, renting a car can be more economical. Before arriving at the airport if you make a pre-reservation and then you will be able to rent your car in minutes with your international status license. Some of the car rental companies serving in the airport terminal are; Loca Som, Starc Hertz, Marloc (Europcar), Scal Avis, Dbilij Car, Air Car, France Car and Location Auto.
