Transportation to Airport from Colombo City Center

Bandaranaike Intl. Airport

It is only possible to reach the airport from Colombo city center by bus and taxi. Alternatively, you can also travel with private cars that can be rented from car rental companies located in the city center.

Taxi

Taxi drivers in Colombo, which is moving towards to becoming a global world city, also keep up with this development. Almost all of the taxi drivers are clean-wear, polite and speak English, which increases the quality of service. Despite being expensive compared to other alternatives, it is preferred because of its ease of reaching anytime.

Bus

The bus number 187-E3, which is used to get to the airport, collects passengers at different bus stops all day except night time. It serves as an economic and fast transportation option.

Car Rental

As in all major cities, it is also possible to find quality and reputable car rental companies in Colombo. You can request the model and brand you want from the companies you can reach easily via Internet and telephone.

Airport Information

Bandaranayike Airport, which links Colombo to the world and hosts many passengers every year, consists of a medium sized single terminal building. There are many services ranging from pharmacies and health centers to foreign exchange bureaus and bank ATMs at the airport. There is a beauty and spa center in the terminal which also has an animal care room for pets of passengers.

Baristar Coffee Lanka, Burger King, Deli Food & Spicy, HVA Foods, Nestle Lanka PLC, Palm Strip Restaurant and Relax Inn Food are the places where passengers can meet their eating and drinking needs during waiting periods.

For shopping there are Abans Pvt, AMF Duty Free, Asian Electricals, Aventure Holdings, Chamber of Gifts, Classic Electronics, Crown Electronics, Citizen, Gomez's and Odel stores. The airport also meets the accommodation needs of its passengers with the Serediva Transit Hotel in it.

Transportation to Dublin City Center from Airport

Dublin Airport

Dublin is also known as "the capital not only of Ireland but also the literature" since it is the hometown of the famous literature figures such as James Joyce, Bernard Shaw, and Jack London. The airport is only 10 kilometers north of the city.

Metro

It is possible to get to Parnell Square and O'Connell in the city center by the metro line called "Northern Metro" from the airport.

The metro which departs from the ground floor of the airport terminals reaches the station in Parnell Square and O’Connell/Abbey St. stations in O'Connell in half an hour. The buses departing from the Parnell Square, which is a big park, provide transportation service to all parts of the city as well as they offer transfer option to the rail system lines, especially to the south and east lines, through the metro stations.

Airport Buses

Dublin Airport, which is the most important airport in the Republic of Ireland, is also the busiest airport in Ireland together with Belfast Airport. Both airports serve the people on the entire island and the buses carry passengers between the airport and the various regions. The private shuttle buses of Air Link and Air Coach companies provide transportation service between the airport and Dublin city center.

Buses depart every 15 or 30 minutes. The buses of both companies go up to O'Connell.

City Buses

It is also possible to reach the city center from the airport by city buses. You can get to Parnell Square in 25 minutes by bus number 747, which departs every 20 minutes from the airport.

In addition, the buses 16, 16C, 33, 41 and 41C departing from the airport will also take you to various points at Parnell Square.

Taxi

It takes about 20 minutes to reach O'Connell in the city center by taxi departing from the gates of Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Rent a car

There are 8 car rental offices at the airport. You can rent a car from these car rental offices, three of which operate on pre-booking system. Once you rent a car, all you need to do is to take the Swords Road to reach the city center. Then you should drive through the Coolock road and take the "City Center – Dublin Port" turning and head to Parnell Square. This road will lead you directly to O'Connell.
